Coaching & Delivery Systems

_______________________________

We believe that coaching clients or athletes is a gift.

A gift and opportunity we take seriously.

Many emerging strength coaches, personal trainers, and physiotherapists struggle with changing their clients and athletes lives not because they don't care enough, but they don't have a proven system to follow which produces repeatable and predictable results.

This section will enquire what systems you have in your own coaching arsenal, and directly relates to what you will learn from High Performance Manager of the Parramatta Eels, Lachlan Wilmot, when you choose to do the Emerging Strength Coach Mentorship with Athletes Authority.

Question 2 of 11

Do you have a consistent, repeatable and documented system for screening, testing, and on boarding clients/athletes? Does this assessment know how to differentiate between structural and functional dysfunctions? Do you know when and why you should refer out?  Does this screening and assessment system determine how you program and coach your clients/athletes? If you cannot answer yes to all these questions, then your answer is no.

A

Yes, I have a system in place that does all that.

B

No, I don't have a completely comprehensive system for screening, assessing and testing my clients.

Question 3 of 11

Do you have a system for creating strategic partnerships with relevant allied health professionals which bolster the results your clients achieve, and the perceived authority and credibility you have with them? Have you set up these partnerships to help you with inbound leads/prospects?

A

Yes, I have my preferred Allied Health Professionals and we are fully integrated to maximise client outcomes.

B

I have begun working on my referral streams but it's not fully implemented, yet.

C

No, I don't have a fully integrated system with Allied Health Professionals that allows me to maximise client outcomes.

Question 4 of 11

Do you have a system that takes your screening and assessment results that allows you to program optimally for your clients/athletes. We consider optimal as following the Pareto distribution: Can you do 80% of your clients program in 20% of the time?

A

Yes, I already have a system for programming, whether that's on Excel or other software, that allows me to optimise program design.

B

No, I still usually write most of my programs from scratch or simply end up copy-pasting programs from other clients/athletes.

Question 5 of 11

Do you have a completed 5-up, 5-down progression system for all your key lifts and movements? Is this built into your programming system to make progression, lateralisation and regression easy to do?

A

Yes, I have a 5-up, 5-down system already built into my software for programming.

B

No, I don't have a completed 5-up, 5-down system, yet.

Question 6 of 11

Do you have a system for improving your clients' mobility and stability which can seamlessly and efficiently, integrate into their training sessions?

A

Yes, this is already in place, and I know when I need to be applying mobility, or stability, to a problem area or movement.

B

Sometimes, I'm unsure whether it's a mobility or stability issue.

C

I just usually do some basic mobility work with them at the start of a session then get stuck into it.

Question 7 of 11

Do you have your own methodology/system for training to communicate the principles and philosophy that your training programs abide by? (Eg Yessis, Westside Barbell, Juggernaut, GymnasticBodies, CSP, MBSC etc)

A

Yes, I have my own system for programming that I have documented and people can understand.

B

No, my system for programming is a mix-match of many different things.

Question 8 of 11

Do you have a repeatable and documented system for the prescription of energy systems development (ESD) for your clients?

A

Yes, I have a repeatable way to test a client/athlete's energy systems development and have a structured system I can apply that gets repeatable and consistent results.

B

No, I usually just prescribe ESD on the go or as a quick circuit at the end of my sessions with no real focus on progression or workload.

Question 9 of 11

Do you have a repeatable and documented progression for the development of power through plyometrics? This includes linear, lateral and rotational vectors and progresses from extensive to intensive, and landing mechanics to force production in a logical, step-by-step progression with clear exit criteria.

A

Yes, I have fully integrated plyometrics system that I use to maximise sports performance with my clients/athletes.

B

No, I'm not exactly sure where to start, how to progress safely, and how to vary exercise selection.

Question 10 of 11

Do you have an integrated return to performance plan with clear exit criteria for your injured or rehabilitating athletes/clients?

A

Yes, I have an exit criteria for all major injuries and a strategy for re-integration back into a performance setting.

B

I have a basic understanding of exit-criteria and the rehab-performance model but I'm not completely across it.

C

No, I feel way over my head when it comes to this.
